Fiskernes Vesterby
*Discover the Red Skurby and hear the colorful fishing tales! * What does a fisherman do when the time comes to retire? The blood still rolls briskly in the veins, and the smell of the salty lake water sits permanently in the nose. Like the many exciting rants about the sometimes harsh life at sea, luminous stands clear in the memory. In Skagen it's easy, because here the older fishermen of Den Rød Skurby gather on a daily basis, and should a guest or two wander by with our guide, everyone is welcomed with more or less truthful stories from the time that was once upon a time. Skagen has always attracted diverse personalities, from the royals through several generations to the town bailiff's African servant. Hear the good stories of highs and lows in the city where Denmark ends.

SYNERGY
Something about Synergy With a sonic universe characterized by both fragility and intensity, Synergi creates musical landscapes in which silence plays as much a role as the dramatic highlights. The duo behind — brothers Jakob and Rasmus Sørensen — combine Nordic thoughtfulness with impulses from New York's vibrant jazz environment and take the listener on a sensual journey through the many moods of nature. The musicians of Synergi are among the most prominent names on the Scandinavian jazz scene. Each of them is recognized for their individual work, but in this project they bring together their experiences in a common musical language that is both personal and innovative. Jakob and Rasmus originate from North Jutland and have a special bond with Skagen and the surrounding Vendsyssel. Their compositions revolve around the peculiar character of this particular landscape — not as nostalgic flashbacks, but as a contemporary musical reflection on the strength, light and raw beauty of the place. Jakob Sørensen is a sought-after trumpeter who plays regularly in Aarhus Jazz Orchestra and Bagland, and who has been a guest musician in DR Big Band. He has received great recognition, including the Fork Prize (2020), New Danish Jazz Name of the Year (2017) and North Jutland Jazz Name of the Year (2015). With five releases behind him, he is a central figure in Danish jazz. Rasmus Sørensen has made his mark internationally as part of the New York jazz community. His debut album Traits (2022) was the start of an extensive tour of Europe, and he has starred in the DR Big Band for the 2023/24 season. In 2024, he was named Musician of the Year at DMA Jazz and will receive the Ben Webster Award in the spring of 2025. His latest album At The Right Time got five hearts in Politiken and was praised for its great artistic potential. About Toppen af Danmark
